Walt Disney created his first Mickey Mouse cartoon in 1928 with “Steamboat Willie.” In the following year, Disney introduced his Silly Symphonies series with “The Skeleton Dance.”
By 1930, Disney’s animated shorts were popular and successful. Robert E. Sherwood, the American playwright and screenwriter, published a review of Disney’s work in the Evening Star, from a column entitled, “The Moving Picture Album.”
